Ted (Andrew Lincoln) disappears, Steve (Richard Hanson) tries to come to conform to his parents’ expectations and Matt (Nathan Valente) becomes engaged. Feeling alienated from his friends and dissatisfied with his existence, Phil becomes involved with Steve’s brother Robert (Marc Warren), a dangerously incompetent villain who is ever planning the ‘big job’. Now trapped between two world – the criminal and the banal, it is the arrival of his cousin Shona (Emer McCourt) that acts as the catalyst for Phil to expand his horizons. But on that horizon are momentous decisions…

Written by Tudor Gates (Barbarella) and directed by Syrian-born Anwar Kawadri, this ribald romp features some of the best-loved female stars of the late-70s, including Susie Silvey (The Playbirds), Nicola Austine (Queen of the Blues) and Rosemary England (Confessions from the David Galaxy Affair).
Coupled with Sex with the Stars is Kawadri’s 1981 short film Waiting Room, which was mired in controversy upon it release due to its sexual content. Starring Georgina Hale (Ken Russell’s The Devils) and Trevor Thomas (Black Joy), it remains as shocking today as it was five decades ago.
