Take an Easy Ride (Blu-ray)
0£14.99Produced and directed by legendary filmmaker Kenneth F. Rowles, Take an Easy Ride is one of the most controversial British exploitation movies ever made. A kinky pseudo-documentary warning young women against the perils of hitch-hiking, the film is based on real-life newspaper reports embellished with lashings of nudity, sex, drugs and violence. Originally released at the Pigalle Cinema in London’s West End in 1975, the movie played solidly for 48 weeks. To celebrate its 50th anniversary, Take an Easy Ride makes its worldwide debut on blu-ray with a host of brand-new extras.
Sex With the Stars (Blu-ray)
0£14.99When nervous Fleet Street journalist Peter Bates (Martin Burrows, Nutcracker) is asked by his brash American boss (Thick Wilson, Come Play with Me) to spice up a magazine horoscope column with more sexual content, he rushes to meet a hard deadline! Tasked with sleeping with twelve different women of each astrological star sign, shy Peter grows in confidence as he romps his way through the zodiac.
Unseen for nearly 40 years, Sex with the Stars is a lost classic from the British sex comedy era. Written by Tudor Gates (Barbarella) and directed by Syrian-born Anwar Kawadri, this ribald romp features some of the best-loved female stars of the late-70s, including Susie Silvey (The Playbirds), Nicola Austine (Queen of the Blues) and Rosemary England (Confessions from the David Galaxy Affair).
Coupled with Sex with the Stars is Kawadri’s 1981 short film Waiting Room, which was mired in controversy upon it release due to its sexual content. Starring Georgina Hale (Ken Russell’s The Devils) and Trevor Thomas (Black Joy), it remains as shocking today as it was five decades ago.
