A provocative period drama chronicling the wild and turbulent life of John Wilmot (Johnny Depp), the 2nd Earl of Rochester — poet, libertine, and infamous rake of the Restoration era. Known for his scandalous appetites and sharp wit, Wilmot lives in relentless pursuit of pleasure, indifferent to consequence. Though married, he embarks on a fiery affair with aspiring actress Elizabeth Barry (Samantha Morton), championing her rise to stardom. His rebellious nature reaches new heights when he pens a scandalous play mocking his patron, King Charles II (John Malkovich), threatening his place at court. A gripping tale of genius, excess, and self-destruction.

A sweeping saga of passion, power, and survival— War and Peace brings Tolstoy’s legendary epic to life in a lavish, high-stakes drama that pits love against war and destiny against desire. In the glittering world of 19th-century Russian aristocracy, the lives of three unforgettable characters—brooding war hero Prince Andrej, idealistic intellectual Pierre, and the young, spirited Natasha—intertwine as Napoleon’s unstoppable army marches ever closer. Featuring a stellar international cast including Clémence Poésy (The Tunnel), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange), Brenda Blethyn (Pride and Prejudice), and Alessio Boni (Caravaggio), this visually stunning production is directed by Oscar-nominee Robert Dornhelm and filmed on breathtaking locations across Saint Petersburg and Eastern Europe.
